Pickles can be consumed on their own or commonly eaten as an appetizer alongside meals. They are a type of appetizer food made by preserving various fruits and vegetables in a salty and acidic solution called "Salamura" for a certain period of time. Depending on the user's preferences, technically almost any fruit or vegetable can be pickled, though the process may vary by product.

Pickle production is divided into two categories: Industrial Pickle Production and Fermented Pickle Production.
